Employers, do you need help understanding and meeting your occupational health and safety (OHS) responsibilities?

Safety Outreach Representatives can provide support with:

  • Developing your OHS program.
  • Technical expertise to identify ways to reduce workplace incidents.
  • Educational resources to improve OHS outcomes in your workplace.

Remember that it is the employer’s responsibility to maintain a safe workplace. WSCC Safety Outreach Representatives can help support you in the creation of safe workplaces, but employers have a legal responsibility to ensure the health and safety of workers.

Will this cost me money?

No, the Safety Outreach Representatives positions use existing resources. There is no added cost to employers.

Will the information I provide to Safety Outreach Representatives be used against me?

No, the Safety Outreach Representatives don’t enforce workplace safety legislation. The information provided by employers will not be used to send OHS Inspectors to your worksite.

Safety Outreach Representatives are prioritizing outreach to employers according to specific criteria. However, you don’t have to wait for their call and can ask for help by contacting the WSCC.
