Policy Manual
The policies in this manual contain the rules the Workers' Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC) applies when interpreting the Workers' Compensation Act(s). The Governance Council approves these policies by the authority the Act(s) grant them. The WSCC updates this manual to reflect policy ammendments the Governance Council approves.
Policy Development Process
The Governance Council has the authority and mandate to establish policies for the implementation of the Workers’ Compensation Act(s), the Safety Act(s), the Mine Health and Safety Act(s) and the Explosives Use Act(s). It is committed to reviewing individual policies every three years, and approves an annual Comprehensive Policy Review Plan to make sure that the WSCC policies remain current and effective.
