School & Youth Events
In celebration of NAOSH Week, the WSCC invites your school to compete in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Creative Safety Challenge - Deadline Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
Share Your Story - Grades 7 - 12
Participate in the Creative Youth Challenge! Create a short video or share your story on Don't Be A Number!
Use the NAOSH 2013 theme 'Are You as Safe as You Think?' and create a short 1-2 minute video for us. Send a hard copy of your video to our Yellowknife office, or submit by email to email@example.com.
Visit Don't Be A Number and click on the Share Your Story icon in the top navigation bar. Use the NAOSH 2013 theme 'Are You as Safe as You Think?' to tell us a true story about safety. Use your own experience or that of someone you know and help us spread the word about being safe!
Winners will be notified by email.
Colouring Contest - Grades K - 6
The concept of workplace safety can be difficult for students at this age to understand; therefore, we suggest presenting material linked to safety at home and in the classroom. We offer colouring templates that students colour while identifying the hazards in each picture. The colouring templates can be school or home activity. We determine winners in this grade category by random draw of all submissions received.

One Life Logan Tournament
WSCC is hosting a One Life Logan tournament to celebrate NAOSH Week! Visit Don't Be A Number to play One Life Logan from May 5 -11, 2013 and play to win prizes!
One Life Logan, an online game and a tool of our young worker safety campaign, Don’t Be a Number, promotes workplace safety and worker rights and responsibilities to youth age 13-25. When playing One Life Logan, students must identify workplace hazards, navigate them, and use the appropriate personal protective equipment to remain safe.
If you want to host a One Life Logan tournament in your school during NAOSH Week, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
